About Us
Focus of Home Builders Care Assistance Fund of Northern Kentucky
Volunteers are needed in each of the four focus areas listed below. If you are
interested
in being a part of these important efforts, please contact Brian Miller at (859)
331-9500 Your contributions are also
welcome, especially for memorials, business contributions or family charitable
giving.
Checks should be made out to the Home Builders Care Assistance Fund of Northern
Kentucky, 2751 Circleport Drive Erlanger, KY 41018. Contributions are
tax-deductible.
• Emergency Relief
The fund addresses the needs of victims and families of terrorist attacks,
floods,
tornadoes and other disasters that may occur in the Northern Kentucky region.
Employees and volunteer members of the Home Builders Association of Northern
Kentucky provide staffing for these emergency relief efforts. The combined
relief
efforts will provide a safeguard for future emergencies in the region.
• Housing Assistance
The fund provides grants to low-income individuals and
families
for down payments on housing purchases in the Northern Kentucky area. This
housing
assistance program will provide opportunities for low-income individuals and
families to
own their own home.
• Community Beautification / Renovation
The fund provides support for Northern Kentucky Community parks and green
spaces, as well as remodeling projects for the disabled and elderly.
• Minority Education Scholarships and Training
The fund provides scholarships to post-secondary
students,
college-bound students and to adults who wish to pursue careers in the
construction
industry. This program helps to offset the current and future construction
labor
shortages in the Northern Kentucky area. A pilot Latino Carpentry Program was
sponsored in 2004, with an additional Latino program in 2005. The
first-ever regional African American Carpentry
Training Program was held from November 2005 through March 2006.
• Grants Received
The fund has received grants from The Greater Cincinnati Foundation, the
National
Housing Endowment and the U.S. Dept. of Labor Employment and Training
Administration, in addition to private contributions.
